Pinch Multimedia is a mad troupe of app-designing maniacs. We’d rather be working on apps than doing anything else. In the years we’ve spent developing iPhone and Android apps, we’ve suffered divorces, dehydration, and near-death experiences — and that’s just fine. We eat, sleep, and breathe apps.
When we’re not thinking about apps, chances are, we’re not thinking. We want to change the world with our apps by changing the way people interact with technology. We’re into shortening the gap between thought and action by making the interface with technology more intuitive. A good app should do what you want, when you want, and how you want it to. A good app should adapt itself to you.
Pinch Multimedia represents the cumulative experience of a group of highly talented, motivated, somewhat nutty, and creative individuals, focused on a single enterprise: bringing to life the world’s most perfect mobile applications.
When I bought the very first iPhone to hit the market, I felt like it had been made especially for me. That’s how we want our customers to feel about our apps. We want to change the world one app at a time.
In the early 90’s, 9-year-old Branko had always been crazy about computers, but not in a normal, kid way. While his peers were playing video games on Atari, Branko was programming them on his calculator. When he was ten, he enrolled as a student in a technical institute to develop and sharpen his skills as a programmer. His fellow students were in their thirties, but Branko held his own. At eleven, he became the youngest graduate in the institute’s history.
Flash forward to 2004. In the true spirit of entrepreneurship, Branko opted to start his own business instead of going to work for somebody else. What did it matter that he didn’t have any money? Like a real entrepreneur, he was sure good ideas would produce good money. With a capital investment totaling $900 (raised doing freelance work) and a web presence, Branko set out to conquer the virtual world under the name BZ Designers. His first client (and partner now) paid him $400, covering almost half of his initial investment. Life was swell.
By 2008, BZ Designers had grown faster than anyone expected, and experienced a parallel expansion in personnel, becoming BZ Group, a fully integrated studio doing graphic and web design, software development, and marketing for a full roster of international clients. By 2011, just seven years after its inception, BZ Group had grown nearly 800 times in size. The moment had come to take on bigger challenges. It was time to go global. And so was born Pinch Multimedia LLC.
Pinch Multimedia isn’t exactly like other startups. We’ve gone out of our way to make sure our team is made up of a wide variety of individuals with disparate personalities and talents. So, while we have our designers and coders, we’ve also got writers, inventors, visual artists, philosophers, magicians, and chefs (yes, developers like good food).
We firmly believe the only way to forge a new vision is to have at our disposal as many avenues of investigation as possible. We don’t want to run the risk of limiting the scope of our creative ambitions. It’s precisely this attitude toward innovation and creativity that has allowed us to grow as quickly and successfully as we have. Where another company might see a roadblock, we see an exciting challenge that invites a creative solution. We don’t want to do things the way they’ve been done before. We want to do them better. And we’re passionate about that.
For everyone at Pinch, app development is about a lot more than dollars and sense. It’s about creating something that enriches and improves our customer’s lives. It’s about – dare we say it? – changing the world, one app at a time.
